Ahead of the Devolution conference, the focus is on devolved healthcare, a cornerstone of public welfare. A critical challenge remains the consistent supply of medical oxygen.
To tackle this, Homa Bay and Busia have partnered with Better Futures CoLab and the Center for Public Health and Development through the Kenya County CoLab project, introducing a sustainable Oxygen as a Service (OaaS) model.
This approach extends beyond oxygen supply to encompass clinical training and ongoing maintenance, ensuring systems that are effective and durable.

🔹 400+ patients supported in 16 facilities
🔹 Common emergencies like birth asphyxia and pneumonia are better managed
Last week, county leaders and healthcare providers came together to reflect on the data and define their next steps. These discussions are key to building long-term solutions that are locally owned and nationally relevant.
As other counties consider how to strengthen primary healthcare, this model provides a blueprint for scalable and impactful collaboration.
